日本酒は焼酎業界の専門のほか、雨穴や夕木春央、横溝正史作品の英訳担当もされています。
- 2000年 タルサ大学卒業（主にドイツ語を専攻し、後のアイオア大学にてドイツ語教師として籍をおく）
- 2001年～2003年 アイオア大学にて語学を学び、MAを取得
- 2003年 ロシアにてCTEFL（外国人向けの英語教師の資格を取得）
- 2004年 英会話教師として来日、英会話教室の他は約8年間大手企業内にビジネッス英語・プレゼスキル等教える
- 2015年～ フリーランス翻訳による、日本翻訳会社にて小説・漫画・ウェブサイト・マニュアルなど翻訳に幅広く対応。
- 2018年 Sake Service Institute にて国際聞き酒師資格を得
- 2021年 Sake School of America にて Shochu Advisor資格を得
- 2023年 著書「Discovering Yamaguchi Sake」出版
- 2023年 TJ翻訳合同会社 英訳責任者 就任

Jim Rion is an American living in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Since 2016 he has been a full time translator and writer, with work appearing in Japan related venues like Sake Today, Nippon.Com, SakeTimes, and more. He works mostly around ceramic arts, sake brewing, travel, the arts, and other cultural topics. As the head translator for TJ Honyaku LTD, he brings nearly a decade of experience and a keen sense of language to literary and cultural translation for a wide variety of clients.
His first authored book, Discovering Yamaguchi Sake, came out from Stone Bridge Press in 2023.
